Check your logo before you ship it.
See how your logo holds up in a browser tab, a round profile picture and on light and dark backgrounds. Nine checks, each with the number we measured and what to change.

Your file never leaves your browser. The checks run on this page, on your device. This page records page views with the page title and referring page, scroll depth and a session ID that lasts until you close the tab. For the checker it also records the file format, whether it was chosen, dropped or pasted, the pass, warn and fail totals, error codes and clicks on the links to the free preview. It never records the image, its name or its pixels. What is recorded.

Previews
On light, mid-tone and dark backgrounds
Your file exactly as it is, on three flat backgrounds.
At 16, 32 and 64 px
Cropped to the ink and centred in a square, at actual size, then zoomed so you can see each pixel. These are the same renders the legibility check measures.
As a round avatar
The centre square of the file, the part upload tools keep, cropped to the circle most social profiles use.
In a browser tab
Shown at 16 CSS pixels. High-density screens draw a 32 px icon in this space.
The nine checks
What it checks.
Every check reports pass, warn or fail with the number behind it. The method page publishes each formula and threshold.
Resolution
The shortest side of a bitmap, or whether an SVG is true vector.
MethodTransparent background
Whether the file has transparency and clear corners, so it sits on colour without a box.
MethodContrast on light and dark
WCAG contrast of the colours where the logo meets the page, on white and on near-black.
MethodSmall-size legibility
How much of the mark turns into grey blur when drawn at 16 and 32 px.
MethodPadding and bounds
Ink touching the edges, or so much empty canvas that the logo looks small.
MethodAspect ratio and favicon fit
Whether the shape suits a square icon or needs a separate symbol.
MethodColour count
Distinct flat colours once anti-aliased edges are ignored.
MethodCircle crop for avatars
How much ink falls outside the circle that profile pictures are cropped to.
MethodFile size for the web
The bytes a visitor downloads for the logo on every page view.
Method
What no automated check can tell you.
These checks measure pixels. They say nothing about whether a logo is any good as a logo. Before you commit to one, you still need to judge:
- Originality. A file can pass every check and still look like someone else's mark.
- Trademark conflicts. Only a trademark search, and for anything important a lawyer, can tell you whether you can use it.
- Fit to the business. Whether it suits your customers, your price point and the way you talk is a judgement for you, not a formula.
There is also no overall score. A logo with one failing check can be the right logo, and a logo that passes all nine can be the wrong one.
