Where a logo gets tested for real.
A logo rarely lives on the white artboard it was drawn on. These are the places it tends to break, and the reason the Logo Checker looks at them.
Browser tabs
A favicon is drawn at 16 by 16 CSS pixels. Thin strokes and fine detail can blur into a smudge at that size.
Profile pictures
Many platforms crop avatars to a circle, which can clip the corners of a square or wide logo.
Other backgrounds
A logo with a white box baked in, or colors that only hold up on white, shows it the moment it sits on a dark or busy surface.
Every check is written down.
