What we are
Vellem is a brand identity studio for founders who don't have time for a six-week branding engagement. We make complete brand systems in about 90 seconds: mark, palette, typography, voice, social formats, brand book.
We exist for the founder who can see what a thoughtful brand looks like, but doesn't have the budget or the weeks to commission one.
The name is from the Latin vellem, "I would wish." Branding is, at its honest core, about making explicit what a founder already wishes for the company to feel like.
The mark
The Vellem mark is a single italic v set in Cormorant Garamond, followed by a coral period. The period is the signature, the small, intentional punctuation that ends every confident sentence.
The mark works at any size, in any direction, and on any background. The two requirements are clear space (at minimum, the height of the v on every side) and contrast (the period must remain a visible coral against the background).
Use the mark unchanged. The period stays coral. The v stays italic. Both stay in Cormorant.
Recolor the period to anything other than coral. Replace the period with another character. Use a different font for the v.
Color
Three colors do almost all the work: coral, ink, paper. Everything else is a quiet supporting actor.
Coral is for warmth, energy, the single touch of color that makes the brand feel alive. It is never the background; always an accent. Ink is for type and structure. Paper is for everything between, the breathing room that lets the type and the color carry the weight.
Typography

Voice
Vellem speaks like the kind of founder we serve: warm, direct, considered. Confident without performance. Specific without jargon. The voice that comes through when you're tired but you still care about being clear.
We don't use em-dashes. We use commas. We don't use slogans. We use sentences. We don't write "level up your brand"; we write what we actually mean.
The pattern: claim, then specifics. Never a claim alone; never specifics without the claim that makes them meaningful. We let the work be confident; we don't shout about it.
What we believe
A few principles that shape decisions inside the company. Documented here so partners and customers can hold us to them.
Founders deserve real craft, not template factories. Most "brand kit" tools generate the same logo with a different name dropped in. We don't. Every kit is generated against the actual brief, with real type pairing decisions, real color logic, real format intentionality.
The price is the price. No upsells at checkout, no hidden subscription opt-ins, no "your free trial is ending" surprises. If we make Pro, we say so. If we charge $95, we charge $95.
The work is yours. You own everything in your kit, commercially and forever. We don't keep license rights, watermark the assets, or lock you into a renewal to keep using what you made.
If we shut down, you keep your brand. If Vellem ceases to exist, we give 90 days notice and a final downloadable archive of every kit. Your vanity URL would stop resolving; the assets are yours to keep.
